Privacy notice

For the Ombra waitlist. Version 2026-10-14.v1, last updated 14 October 2026.

This notice explains, in plain English, what happens to the details you give us when you join the Ombra waitlist on ombratrading.com, and the rights you have under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

Who we are

The controller of your data is Craig Shuttleworth, trading as Ombra Trading, in the United Kingdom. Ombra is software in development. If you have any question about your data, or want to use any of your rights, email craig@ombratrading.com.

What we collect

We don’t ask for your name, payment details or any trading data, and we don’t receive any market data.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We rely on your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a), and regulation 22 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations for emails). You give it by ticking the boxes on the form.

Box you tickWhat we do
Product updates (needed to join)Email you about Ombra’s development and launch: the free Drift Recorder, invitations to test, and Founders places. No adverts.
Partner deals (optional)Email you offers from evaluation firms. These are adverts, and we may earn a commission if you buy. We send them ourselves. We never give your email address to any firm.

We use your optional answers to understand who needs Ombra and what to build first, and to decide who is offered a Founders place. We don’t make any automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.

You can withdraw consent at any time, for either box, by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by emailing us. Withdrawing doesn’t affect what we did before you withdrew.

Our promise on prop firms

Prop firms never get your data from us. That includes any prop firm that we, or a company in our group, might set up in future. Staff who work for such a firm have no access to it.

The only exceptions are things you ask for yourself: your own orders reaching your own firm account, a deal link you choose to click, things you publish, and your own export. We would also have to comply with a valid legal order.

We don’t share email, contact, analytics or advertising tools with any prop firm. If we publish statistics, they go to everyone at once, or not at all. If Ombra is ever sold to a prop-firm owner, you’ll get 60 days’ notice to export and delete your data first, and the buyer must keep this promise.

Who handles it for us

We don’t sell or rent your data. These service providers process it on our behalf, under contract, and only on our instructions:

Zoho is used for one-to-one email only. We haven’t chosen a service for sending emails to the whole waitlist yet. We’ll name it here, and update the version of this notice, before we send any email other than a direct reply from Craig.

How long we keep it

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising pixels or third-party trackers. Our fonts are served from our own site, not from a font service. Cloudflare may process technical data, such as your IP address, to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.

Your rights

You have the right to:

Email craig@ombratrading.com from the address you signed up with. We’ll reply within one month. There is no charge.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or call 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we use your data, we’ll update this page and its version number. If the change matters, such as a new purpose, we’ll ask for your consent again first.
